The Department of Consumer Economics is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of young individuals with a resilient spirit to face the challenges of the global era. Our goal is to nurture talents who possess both ethical consciousness and a compassionate heart for service. To achieve this, we provide education that enables students to quickly grasp and actively respond to the dynamics and transformations of the global economy. We prioritize developing leadership skills to become trailblazers in their fields. Education Purposes
The goal of the Consumer Economics major is to cultivate skilled and proactive women professionals who can thrive in diverse fields. We provide comprehensive knowledge of consumer-related subjects and foster practical problem-solving abilities, enabling students to adapt to the changing market dynamics of the globalized and digital era. Our aim is to develop talents who understand the foundational theories of economics, business administration, and law, and can analyze and address consumer issues in modern society.
Education Goals
- Understand the rights, responsibilities, and value of consumers as key players in the digital market economy.
- Develop expertise in consumer economics by studying subjects such as economic and consumer theories, market analysis, financial planning, consumer behavior, digital marketing, and service design.
- Enhance consumer research and analysis skills through practical training in algorithms, big data analysis, market research, and statistical analysis using tools like Excel and SPSS.
- Cultivate practical skills for technology commercialization and consumer strategies through industry-academia collaboration, capstone design projects, and real-world applications of ESG principles.
- Contribute to society at the local, national, and global levels by fostering creative problem-solving in the consumer domain, anticipating future market trends, and applying innovative solutions to benefit consumers and communities.
